Listen to What’s Up Episode 1: It’s Alive!

Have you ever wondered what’s new in all your favorite book/media sites, but you don’t have the time or inclination to check every week? The What’s Up team certainly can sympathize, and so, to save you the time, and to perhaps expose titles that might otherwise be overlooked, enter the What’s Up podcast.  We have content from popular sites, such as audible Amazon, and others, but we also have offerings from Samnet, Serotek’s own entertainment hub.

Review of the week

To go along with what’s up this week, we have a review by Joe Orozco of the very popular We’re Alive series.  Joe also gives us some insight into his favorite genre.

What’s Up This week?

Derek Lane begins by letting you know What’s up on samnet!  This week, several additions have been added to the descriptive video programming, as well as some updates to the theatre of the mind category.

New Movies on Samnet

Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion
description:

Romy and Michelle have been through it all including being tortured by the Popular crowd during high school. When they receive word of a 10 year reunion, they realize their lives aren’t as impressive as they’d like them to be. Instead of staying home they go to the reunion with business outfits, cell phones, and one heck of a bogus success story.

This is Where I Leave You
description:

When their father passes away, four grown siblings, bruised and banged up by their respective adult lives, are forced to return to their childhood home and live under the same roof together for a week, along with their eccentric mother and an assortment of spouses, exes and might-have-beens.

The Imitation Game
description:

Based on the real life story of legendary cryptanalyst Alan Turing, the film portrays the nail-biting race against time by Turing and his brilliant team of code-breakers at Britain’s top-secret Government Code and Cypher School at Bletchley Park, during the darkest days of World War II.

Ouija
description:

A girl is mysteriously killed after recording herself playing with an ancient Ouija Board, which leads to a close group of friends to investigate this board. They later find out that some things aren’t meant to be played with, especially the ‘other side’!

What’s up in theatre of the mind?

This category has been improved the most, as a result of an ongoing  cleanup and reorganization effort by the new content team.  As a result samnet members have access to a better copy of gap digitals “left behind the kids” dramitization, with a better copy of left behind on the way, as well as a much higher quality of the dramatised version of Star Wars, as done by NPR.

So how do I get on that samnet that you’re talking about… you may ask?

Simply go to samobile.net and sign in, if you’re an existing member.  If not, consider starting your 7 day trial, and checking out all the network has to offer.

What’s Up In Audible?

It’s always interesting to read a novel adapted from a comic or TV show.

Doctor Who and The Deadly Assassin

is certainly no exception. If that wasn’t enough of The Doctor for you, you’re in luck.

Doctor Who: Corpse Marker
100 Ways To Calm the Crying is next on our list.

And finally, last but certainly not least:

Blair, Inc.: The Man Behind the Mask.

This week in Kindle

Dead Wake: The Last Crossing of the Lucitania

is a book that brings history to life. From the #1 New York Times bestselling author and master of narrative nonfiction comes the enthralling story of the sinking of the Lusitania.
